Glen M. Wyatt, LG, LHG

Mr. Wyatt has over 32 years of experience as a hydrogeologist and has managed site investigation, remediation, solid waste, and groundwater projects throughout the U.S. and Canada. His areas of expertise include geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and data management and evaluation. In addition to more than 13 years in environmental consulting, Mr. Wyatt spent more than 17 years in the pulp, paper, and manufactured wood-products industry as an industrial hydrogeologist providing technical assistance to corporate staff groups and manufacturing facilities on projects that included permitting (e.g., solid waste, NPDES, facility environmental licenses), litigation support, residuals management, remedial investigation/feasibility studies (RI/FS), groundwater monitoring, and remediation system operation and maintenance (O&M). He is licensed as a geologist in California, Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina; hydrogeologist in California and Washington; and engineering geologist in California and Oregon.
Representative experience for Mr. Wyatt includes:
- Evaluating natural development of evapotranspiration (ET) landfill covers on wood-debris landfills in Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Alberta, and Ontario and conducting a 3-year pilot study to asses plant types used for development of ET covers;
- Development of standard procedures for hydrogeologic investigations at industrial sites and hydrogeology/site remediation training courses for environmental managers;
- Managing two CERCLA military munitions RI/FS projects for the U.S. Navy, including preparation of the proposed plan and record of decision for one site;
- Evaluation of impacts to groundwater, surface water, and soils in the vicinity of chlorine manufacturing plants that used the mercury chlor-alkali process;
- Characterizing site hydrogeology at a copper and uranium mill and evaluating the interactions of water from tailings ponds with surface water, groundwater, and native materials, through a series of geochemical mixing experiments. The experiments were used to determine the distribution coefficients (Kd) of metals in tailings pond water (including arsenic, copper, chromium, etc.) in contact with alluvium and bedrock;
- Performing groundwater drainage-basin studies to characterize the hydrogeology of areas ranging from 20 to 200 square miles; and
- Managing numerous site characterization/remediation projects at petroleum refineries, bulk terminals, and underground storage tank sites.
